Moisturizing and regenerating. When we founded Less, it was not very common to use hemp oil in a skin care products and we had to explain the ingredient to many. Now, of course, perception has completely changed. Cold-pressed hemp oil has fantastic moisturizing and cell renewing properties that benefit all skin types, especially dry, sensitive and mature skin. The skin becomes soft and smooth and looks silky and healthy.
Cold pressed from hemp seeds. Hemp oil, or “hemp seed oil” as it should more accurately be called, is produced from the seeds of the hemp. Unlike hemp resin, hemp seeds do not contain any significant amounts of the intoxicating tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). For the hemp oil that we use at Less, only certified organic seeds are used, which are then “cold-pressed”, i.e. without the use of heat or solvents. This gentle, but also very labour-intensive procedure ensures that all precious nutrients and vitamins are preserved.
A unique mix of unsaturated fatty acids. Hemp oil consists of over 70 percent unsaturated fatty acids and has a very favorable ratio of linoleic acid and alpha-linolenic acid. It contains up to 4 percent of the very rare and high-quality gamma linolenic acid and about 1 percent phytosterols. Alpha-linolenic acid has strong regenerating and cell renewing properties. Gamma linolenic acid binds water in our skin cells and provides a cushioning effect. Phytosterols are an essential component of the skin barrier and reduce transepidermal water loss (TEWL). This is why hemp oil is an integral part of the Less Face Oil for Dry Skin and the Less Face Oil for Combination and Oily Skin.
